Rush hour traffic in downtown
Seattle. One of those stadiums in the background is where the Seattle
Seahawks play; the other is for the Seattle Mariners (I think) |
This trio called Slimpickins was
very good. They play rags, Cajun, and country blues. |

Saying our farewells before Marci

On our way from Seattle to Montana, we stopped in
Coeur d'Alene for a delicious meal at
Dean's friend Mike's restaurant, Bardenay. (8/9) |
Hungry for dinner! |
We didn't quite make it to Montana, so after many hours and miles of
traveling from Seattle, we stopped at this small town (population around
950) for a good night's rest at the Ryan Hotel.
Wallace, ID (8/9) |
The next morning, before leaving Wallace, ID, we walked around town to get
that small-town feeling. This little guy was owned by the guy who
owned the book store in front of which we were standing. When asked
about the cat, the owner said, "Most of the time, he's a pain in the a--."

Just about the last thing we'd expect to see in Wallace, ID. |
Elena said, "Stand in front of this blue doorway." Okay. |
The dog-taxi service started early this morning! |
|
In case you were wondering about its location... There was one of these
signs on each of the four corners of this intersection. Guess it was
the second-to-last-thing I expected to find in Wallace, ID. |
Heading out to Glacier National Park in Montana, we passed this forest fire
in the distance. |
Somewhere along the way towards Glacier National Park |
A passing plane... |
A passing eagle... made of wood |
Flathead Lake, Montana, still en
route to Glacier National Park |
|
After arriving at our campsite in
St. Mary, MT, just outside of the northeast entrance to Glacier National
Park, we found a small stream just down a hill from our tent site. |
