When we can't open the back
because the bikes are attached to the door, and we need something (like the
phone charger), there ain't nothin' to it but to do it - Elena crawls on top
of everything to get what she needs! And lucky her, Jonathan always
has the camera ready
(leaving Crater Lake in the
morning, 7/31) |
Making an unexpected stop at the
Rogue Gorge along the Rogue River. We happened to see this trail
shortly after leaving Crater Lake and heading south to the Oregon Caves
National Monument. |

After a very curvy road about 6
miles long, we made it the Oregon Caves National Monument |

The temperature of the cave is
about 45F degrees year round, hence the hoodie! |
We were only allowed to take
flash pictures in areas where they know that bats are not present, mostly in
places where you can't see any light from the outside - like this spot here! |
|
Those lines on the ceiling of
this cave are actually roots from the trees above! |
It was shortly after this picture
was taken that Elena and I left the caves, halfway through the 1.5 hour
tour. The little girl (on the right) and her family also left with us,
as she was a bit frightened of the darkness. |
Outside by a small pond and
waterfall in the background, we could breath the fresh air of what I like to
call - the outside! |
After spending the night in
Salem, Oregon, we decided to head back to the coastland. Here we are
enjoying some ice cream in Lincoln City, OR. (8/1) |
Cheese tasting at the Tillamook
Cheese Factory in Tillamook, Oregon. |

be cut, sliced, and diced. |

We saw this sign and it caught
Elena's eye... |
Turns out that this is one of
Elena's dreams, to own a home like this with her own chickens for eggs and a
garden to grow her own fruits and vegetables. So we stopped to check
it out... |
Drinking some water... |
Eating some food... |

We drove all the way to Fort
Stevens State Park in Warrenton, Oregon, one of the nicest campgrounds in a
state park we've come across yet. |
