Rollin' around on the ground - looks like fun! |
|
That large plateau in the background (viewed from Bryce Canyon) is said to
be the highest plateau in North America, part of the Colorado Plateau,
though I don't remember the specific name or how high it is (though I think
it's around 10,000 feet plus) |
|
Walking one of the "loops" into Bryce Canyon, from Sunset Point
(elevation 8,000 feet), down into the canyon, back up to Sunrise
Point, and a 1/2 mile rim walk back to Sunset Point |

"Thor's Hammer" |
A different view of "Thor's Hammer" |
|
Elena enjoys some quality fun time with her shadow |
Oh so happy to be walking down into the canyon (a much different picture
awaits the walk up the canyon!) |
|
Coolin' off with some lemon-lime Gatorade and some much-sought-after shade |
Who knew Elena was a fruit-punch
flavor fan?!
|
Further down into Bryce Canyon |
|
This one looks like a dinosaur, no? |
|
Exploring the crack in the rock |
|
We're going that-a-way! |
|
|
|
Looking tough - or trying to anyway - through the man-made rock arch |
The walk back up the canyon starts... |
Natural rock spires tower over Elena as she admires their formations |
|
|
Walking the hot walk as the sun
knows no mercy |
Don't let that gorgeous smile
fool you - it's HOT out here!!! |
Without any people in the
picture, it's hard to get perspective on how big these rock formations
really are |
Snapping some pics as we get back
to the top of the canyon |
Finally back at the top of the
canyon at Sunrise Point, taking a much-needed rest |
A final look at Bryce Canyon from the top |
The sun makes its own artwork as it peers through the clouds at the end of
the day |
