We're off to find some ancient pottery pieces said to be scattered in the
hills |
Michael with son, Mitchell |
Miguel, quite the ham, kept
begging us to take his picture as he posed on various peaks and rocks.
Ain't he a cutie? |

Emmiline shows Sierra how to
weave an authentic Navajo rug on a loom in her kitchen. (We'll be
expecting a rug from Sierra very soon!) |
Close up on Emmiline's beautiful
handiwork. She weaves by hand, and counts the stitches to make this
pattern. Amazing! |
Back and Helen's trailer, putting
the final touches on the painting, Katrina and Rebecca make sure it's just
right |
Helen's grandchildren helped out
too, carrying lumber, painting and hanging metal skirting |
John shows us how to properly
install the new skirting |
Jane touches up the trim |
A few last finishing touches |
And Helen's trailer is almost
complete! |
|
Back at Emmiline's place, she
takes us for a walk around her home to show us where she picks flowers to
make Navajo tea. She brewed us some just this morning! |
Emmiline shows Elena where a tree
was blown out of her yard by a strong wind |
Michael patches a hole in
Emmiline's kitchen ceiling. No more leaky ceiling for Emmiline! |
Emmiline's storage house |
Back at Helen's (AGAIN!) to help
in the afternoon with the last of the metal skirting and porch work.
Terri (in orange), Lona's sister came from Danbury, CT to help on the last
day. It took her three days and two canceled flights to make it in
time! Now THAT'S determination! |
|
It's getting there...and looking
good!! |
|
Helen loves her new trailer's new
look! The color is just right and the porches are in great shape. |
