Early morning

Jim and Kristi,
on their own cross-country driving trip, preparing for the posed shot (found
in the week 9 journal)

We found a

Scott the potter
in the house on the right (in a red shirt sitting down behind the shelf on
the bottom), with his friend from Australia (in the white shirt) helping him
for the summer. Scott's girlfriend, Katy, lives in the house next
door, where she sells her own jewelry and paintings |
Scott in action,
working a 25-pound lump of clay to produce the many vases beside him |
It's dirty work,
but someone has to do it! |
One of Scott's
creations, a ceramic "juicer" |

Scott's dog, Lucy,
obviously tired after a hard day of walking around and sleeping |

John stops by our campsite to wish us a fond farewell on our journey from

The road to Ojo
Caliente and their hot mineral springs |
|
|
The famous "swirly thing" (that's
the official term for it, you know). One of the things it represents is
eternal life |
Yet another perfect yoga spot! |
|
This was the iron spring... we
could feel the irony! |
Because there is a proper
technique, you know... |
It was cold and kinda slimy... |
|
|
... but when it dried, it felt
nice and warm in the sun |
|
Drink this water and achieve
everlasting life... or at least a warm, metallic aftertaste! |
The springs were surrounded by
these high rocks |
Ready to enjoy a nice meal at
Yin-Yang's Chinese restaurant in Santa Fe, NM |
Downtown Santa Fe, at the Plaza,
this man was selling pictures he "artified" from actual pictures taken by
his great, great grandfather who lived in the Taos Pueblo way back when

Trying out for the Santa Fe
marching band |
Trying out for the Santa Fe rodeo |
Yes, this is a dog, cat, and
mouse, all living as one. The child's expression is one of
displeasure: Elena had just leaned over to pet the mouse and accidentally
spilled water on the girl. (She got over it - and so did the girl!) |
A better shot of the harmony |
Stopping to smell the flowers |
In the courtyard of the Museum of
Fine Arts, Santa Fe, NM |

These red chilies hang all over

Museum of Fine Arts, one of the few places we were allowed to take pictures |
